Saiph Savage

Saiph Savage

Saiph Savage is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at West Virginia University (WVU) where she directs the Human Computer Interaction Laboratory (HCI @ WVU Lab). She is also a visiting professor at the the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), a J. Wayne and Kathy Richards Faculty Scholar, and adjunct professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Her research in Social Computing and Crowdsourcing focuses on the design of systems that spark better coordination of volunteers and empower communities to reach more complex goals. She has authored and co-authored publications at premier venues in Human Computer Interaction, including ACM CHI, ACM CSCW.

Saiph has been recognized with the Conacyt-UC MEXUS Doctoral Fellowship, Google Anita Borg Scholarship, and is also currently a member of Microsoft's BizSpark, and director of the Anita Borg Community powered by Google. Her work has been covered in venues including the BBC, MIT Tech Review, and Vice News. She holds a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering from UNAM as well as a masters and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara

Beverly May

Beverly May

Beverly is the VP of UX for GE Healthcare Digital, overseeing a global team of dozens of UX designers, researchers and UI developers. She also teaches in the Applied Analytics and Information and Knowledge Strategy MS Programs at Columbia University, and is the Executive Director of the UX Awards, which she founded seven years ago.

Most recently, Beverly ran her own consultancy, Oxford Tech since 2008; taught UX, Analytics and Product Management; and initiated the Concepts Lab, a future-focused workshop environment in addition to leading the UX Awards. Through her consulting, Beverly recently served as a Senior Digital Specialist to the State of CA 's Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development to help overhaul their digital strategy for open health data. She has 2 decades of experience in tech management, product development and UX and has helped define and launch hundreds of new tech and digital brand initiatives at major agencies, publishers, startups, and in government, including for T-Mobile, Consumer Reports, Pitney Bowes, Hearst, Runner's World, Amplify Education, Nike, Diageo, and the Department of Peacekeeping Operations at the UN.

Beverly has an Executive MBA from the University of Oxford, a Master’s degree from NYU’s ITP Program, and a BA from University of Toronto. She is a triple EU- Canadian- US citizen and a regular educator and public speaker on future trends, UX, analytics and product management.

El Dr. Luis Alberto Muñoz Ubando es Ingeniero en Sistemas Electrónicos (ITESM, 93), Maestro en Cómputo Científico (INRIA, FR, 94), Doctor en Imágenes, Visión y Robótica (INRIA, FR, 99), PostDoctorado en Robótica Industrial (Oxford, UK, 98-00), Sabático en Visión Cognitiva (UT Wien, Austria 05-06). Desde 2008 es Director de Innovación de Grupo Plenum en Mérida, Yucatán. Ha trabajado en Televisa, Banamex, McDonald’s, ITESM, ITAM, UA, UNAM. fundado y participado en la creación de 14 empresas en México y en USA.

Como investigador, ha trabajado en la Universidad de Pisa en Italia (96), de Tokyo en Japón(95), en la Universidad de Karlsruhe en Alemania(94-5); en la Universidad de Stanford(2002) y en la Universidad de Massachusetts en Lowell(2006) en Estados Unidos. Para el Gobierno Federal ha trabajado en el Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT) durante 2000-2 y en la Facultad de Ciencias de la UNAM del 2006 al 2009.

En 2008 fundó el The Robotics Institute of Yucatán en Mérida (www.triy.org) dónde se atienden anualmente a más 500 niños y jóvenes en cursos específicos al desarrollo de sus competencias científicas y tecnológica tempranas. Tiene patentes en energía, logística, salud en línea (“e-health”), sustentabilidad, y educación. Es miembro de la CACEI, del comité del Journal of Software Engineering for Robotics (www.joser.com) y evaluador de diversas revistas de investigación científica, desarrollo tecnológico y gestión de la innovación. Es mentor de Startup México, Staminna, Talentum y otros organismos de generación de talentos. Participó en el programa Go-to-Market de Stanford en la primera generación en México. Desde 2015 es miembro regular de la Academia Mexicana de Computación. Es Presidente Sureste y VP de Innovación Nacional de CANIETI. El columnista invitado de El Financiero.
