Workshops and Tutorials

TU-1: The practitioners' club at MexIHC 2014

The workshop “The practitioners' club ” aims at reuniting the community of researchers, practicioners, and those interested in HCI in Mexico, to share interests and get to know the work being carried out within the several areas of HCI..

TU-2: Mass-computers Interaction

The first workshop on diverse ways of massive interaction, social networks, computing by masses, and infercases for large audiences, aimed at identify and get to know each other who are working or are interested in working in mass-computer interaction.

TU-3: Cognitive processes in the design of interactive systems

get to know how people acquire, store, retrieve and use daily life knowledge using cognitive processes as the departure point. Also, get to know more about the implications these processes have for design.

TU-4: How to Design for Low Attention Interaction Wearable Technologies (CANCELED)

The aim of the tutorial is understanding the limits of designing for the body, and develop a set of methodologies for the evaluation of user experience in wearable devices. Also, we will explore the landscape of wearable deviced in Latin America, pointing out how subtle cultural differences can derive in important design changes.

TU-5: Apps that shine, feel and listen

This tutorial will aim at engaging the participant, and debate about conceptos in the realm of HCI related to multimodal user interfaces. In particular, audio and voice recognition interfaces for both desktop and mobile apps. Teh theoretical framework will emcompass emotional design techniques, natural interaction, learing, context of use, and user experience.

Note: Participants should provide their own laptop with microphone or headset for this tutorial.
